"Counter Propaganda" - Album Review from UK's fRoots Magazine
Clash
of Civilizations had an EP out a few months ago which was very well received
in these pages. All four tracks from that appear on this debut album, along
with six new compositions. The EP was an intense earful, but fortunately
CoC duo Milan Kovacev and Nikola Radan (who write all the material, provide
the beats and play the lion’s share of the instruments), have programmed
a more diverse set for this longer listen. Their combination of electronics,
live instruments, vocals and snippets of political speeches is still the
same though and can be heard as its best on blues-infused opener Declaration
of Independence, but this is a strong set throughout. Even though you’ll
have almost half of what’s on offer here if you’ve already got
the EP, there’s probably still enough good new stuff to merit investigation.
